This is video number 2 in the quick mini series I have for this fall about ‘Home Projects That Save Money.’ In this one we talk about the steps needed to get the attic ready to insulate, which includes sealing and insulating the duct work. Then we consider our options for the insulation which could be either bats or blow in. We chose cellulose blow in because we believe it was the best value for our money (and much more pleasant to work with than fiberglass). This project should pay for itself in less than 2 years, make our house more comfortable, and more ‘green’ since we won’t need as much energy to heat and cool it. It was well worth doing and a great DIY project for anyone who has an attic that has an insufficient amount of insulation.
